वृषो अग्निः समिध्यतेइ᳓श्वो न देववाहनः. तं हविषमन्त ईडते
Ta≈ havi¶amanta ∂Œate. Virile and generous, Agni is lighted and raised, it shines and blazes. It is the carrier of fragrance to the divinities of heaven and earth. Devotees bearing sacred
हे विष्णु, हे देवों को ले जाने वाले अग्नि देव, आप प्रज्वलित होते हैं और प्रकाशमान होते हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1541
उत्ते बृहन्तो अर्चयः समिधानस्य दीदिवः. अग्ने शुक्रास ईरते
Agne ‹ukråsa ∂rate. Agni, lord of light and fire, kindled, fed and rising, your lofty and expansive flames, shining and blazing, pure, powerful and purifying, go on rising higher and higher.
हे अग्निदेव, प्रज्वलित और प्रदीप्त आपकी ऊँची और विस्तृत ज्वालाएँ, प्रकाशित और धधकती हुई, शुद्ध और शक्तिशाली होकर उत्तरोत्तर ऊपर उठ रही हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1542
उप त्वा जुह्वो मम घृताचीर् यन्तु हर्यत. अग्ने हव्या जुषस्व नः
Agne havyå ju¶asva na¨. Agni, lord of beauty and bliss, let my ladles overflowing with ghrta rise and move close to you. Pray accept and enjoy our oblations and our songs.
हे अग्निदेव, घृत से भरे मेरे यज्ञपात्र आपकी ओर आएं, आप उन्हें स्वीकार करें।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1543
मन्द्रं होतारम् ऋत्विजं चित्रभानुं विभावसुम्. अग्निम् ईडे स उ श्रवत्
I adore Agni, lord of light and fire, blissful, generous yajaka, high priest of regular seasonal yajna, wondrous illustrious, blazing brilliant lord of wealth and honour, and I pray may the lord listen and bless.
मैं उस तेजस्वी, धनवान, और प्रकाशमान अग्नि की स्तुति करता हूँ, जो यज्ञ का पुरोहित है, और प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि वह हमारी सुने।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1544
पाहि नो अग्न एकया पाह्युýत द्वितीयया. पाहि गीर्भिस् तिसृभिर् ञुर्जाम् पते पाहि चतसृभिर् वसो
Agni, save us by the first voice, and by the second, by three voices, and, O lord of cosmic power, ultimate haven and home of existence, protect and promote us by the four. (Rg. 8-60-9) (This is a very simple and yet a most comprehensive verse. The first voice could be the voice of average humanity; second, words of the sages; third, voice of the soul; fourth, the voice of divinity. Another way to understand: One, two, three or all the four Veda's voice. Yet another: voice of the soul in the rising sequence of the four mantras of Aum as described in the Upanishads. And then the four stages of language in the descending order from divine to the human: Para, Pashyanti, Madhyama and Vaikhari.)
हे अग्निदेव, अपनी प्रथम, द्वितीय, तृतीय और चतुर्थ शक्तियों से हमारी रक्षा करें।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1545
पाहि विश्वस्माद् रक्षसो अराव्णः प्र स्म वाजेषु नोइ᳓व. त्वाम् इद्धि नेदिष्ंहं देवतातय आपिं नक्षामहे वृधे
Save us from all evils of the world, from all selfish grabbers. Protect us in our struggles and lead us to victory. We approach you and pray to you, closest to us, our own, for the success of our divine yajna and rising advancement in life.
हे देव, हमें सब बुराइयों से बचाओ, हमारे संघर्षों में रक्षा करो और विजय दिलाओ। हम आपकी शरण में आते हैं, हे हमारे सबसे निकटतम देव, अपने यज्ञ की सफलता और उन्नति के लिए।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1546
इनो राजन्नरतिः समिद्धो रौद्रो दक्षाय सुषुमाँन् अदर्शि. चिकिद् वि भाति भासा बृह- तासिक्नीम् एति रुशतीम् अपाजन्
Mighty self-refulgent sun, Agni, constant master illuminator of heaven and earth, blazing and comman- ding terrible power, abundant with life giving energy, is seen on high, energising life for intelligent and industrious work on earth and shining with boundless light, and then relinquishing the day light and projecting the light far away ahead, passes on to the area of erstwhile darkness of the night. (Then night follows the day here and the day follows night there.)
हे तेजस्वी राजा, अग्नि, जो स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी को प्रकाशित करते हैं, वे प्रचंड शक्ति से चमकते हुए, जीवन ऊर्जा से भरपूर दिखाई देते हैं, और अपनी असीम ज्योति से सब कुछ प्रकाशित करते हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1547
कृष्णाम् यद् एनीम् अभि वर्पसाभ्ञुज् जनयन् योषां बृहतः पितुर् जाम्. ªउर्ध्वं भानुं स्ञुर्यस्य स्तभायन् दिवो वसुभिर् अरतिर् वि भाति
Then again, overcoming the dark passage of the night with its illumination of light and manifesting the youthful daughter of great and vast heaven bearing the light of the sun up above, the same Agni shines with heavenly light constantly for the day.
हे अग्निदेव, आप रात्रि के अंधकार को अपने प्रकाश से दूर करते हुए, सूर्य के तेज को धारण कर, महान स्वर्ग की युवा पुत्री के समान, दिव्य प्रकाश से प्रकाशित होते हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1548
भद्रो भद्रया सचमान आगात् स्वसारं जारो अभ्येति पश्चात्. सुपृअकेतैर् द्युभिर् अग्निर् वितिष्ंहन् रुशद्भिर् वर्णैर् अभि रामम् अस्थात्
The sun of auspicious light, dispeller of darkness of the night, has come up close at the heels of its love, the beauteous holy dawn now on the run on its own and thus Agni, prevailing with beautiful sun shine of the morning holds off the darkness for the day.
हे सूर्य, तुम अपने प्रकाश से अंधकार को दूर करते हुए, सुंदर प्रभात के साथ आ गए हो, और अपनी दीप्ति से रात्रि को दूर भगा रहे हो।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1549
कया ते अग्ने अΔगिर ञुर्जो नपाद् उपस्तुतिम्. वराय देव मन्यवे
Varåya deva manyave. O creator, preserver and protector of energy, dear as breath of life and vitality of existence, with words of beauty and bliss, O light of the world, we offer our homage and adoration to you, lord refulgent and great.
हे अग्निदेव, हे ऊर्जा के पुत्र, हम आपकी स्तुति करते हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1550
दाशेम कस्य मनसा यज्¤अस्य सहसो यहो. कद् उ वोच इदं नमः
Agni, to which mighty, potent, adorable power other than you, shall we offer our sincere homage, when and where present these words of prayer?
हे अग्निदेव, आपके अतिरिक्त किस शक्तिशाली, सामर्थ्यवान और पूजनीय शक्ति को हम नमस्कार करें, जब और जहाँ ये प्रार्थना के शब्द उपस्थित हों?
Chapter 15 · Verse 1551
अधा त्वं हि नस्करो विश्वा अस्मभ्यं सुक्षितीः. वाजद्रविणसो गिरः
And you alone will provide happy homes and peaceful establishment for all our people and bless us with vitality, power, wealth and victory in response to our prayer.
हे भगवन, आप ही हमें सुख-समृद्धि और शक्ति प्रदान करते हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1552
अग्न आ याह्यग्निभिर् होतारं त्वा वृणीमहे. Å त्वाम् अनक्तु प्रयता हविष्मती यजिष्ंहं बर्हिर् आ सदे
Agni, universal fire of life, come with other fires yajamana. The yajaka people holding ladlefuls of havi would honour and celebrate you and seat you on the holy grass.
हे अग्निदेव, आप अन्य अग्नियों के साथ पधारें; हम आपको यज्ञकर्ता के रूप में आह्वान करते हैं। हवि धारण किए हुए यजमान आपको पवित्र कुश पर विराजमान कराकर आपका सत्कार करेंगे।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1553
अच्छा हि त्वा सहसः स्ञुनो अΔगिरः स्रुच- श्चरन्त्यध्वरे. ªउर्जो नपातं घृतकेशम् ईमहेइ᳓ग्निं यज्¤एषु प्ञुर्व्यम्
Agni, creator of energy and power, dear as breath of life omnipresent, the ladles of ghrta feed you well in the holy fire of yajna. We honour and adore the divine fire, prime power, infallible product of cosmic energy and rising in flames in yajnas.
हे अंगिरा के पुत्र, हे बल के स्वामी अग्नि देव, घृत की आहुतियाँ यज्ञ में आपको तृप्त करती हैं, हम यज्ञों में सर्वव्यापी, ऊर्जा के पुत्र, प्राचीन अग्नि का आदर करते हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1554
अच्छा नः शिरशोचिषं गिरो यन्तु दर्शतम्. अच्छा यज्¤आसो नमसा पुर्ञुवसुं पुरु प्रशस्तम् ञुतये
Acchå yaj¤åso namaså purμuvasu≈ puru pra‹astam μutaye. Let all our songs of adoration rise fast to the refulgent and glorious Agni. Let our yajna with homage and havi move and reach the universally adored and universally honoured Agni for the sake of universal protection.
हे अग्निदेव, हमारी स्तुति-वाणी आपके तेजस्वी और प्रकाशमान स्वरूप की ओर तीव्र गति से जाए। हमारी यज्ञ-क्रियाएं, श्रद्धापूर्वक अर्पित हवि के साथ, सर्वत्र पूजनीय और सम्मानित अग्नि तक पहुँचें।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1555
अग्निं स्ञुनुं सहसो जातवेदसं दानाय वार्याणाम्. द्विता यो भ्ञुदमृतो मर्त्येष्वा होता मन्द्रतमो विशि
Let our prayers reach Agni, all pervasive creator of energy, for the gift of cherished wealth and power. Agni is the immortal presence who appears among mortals in both physical and spiritual forms, universal yajaka, happiest and most blissful, arising in every home stead of the people.
हे अग्निदेव, आप ऊर्जा के निर्माता हैं, हमें धन और शक्ति प्रदान करें। आप मनुष्यों के बीच अमर रूप में प्रकट होते हैं, सभी के प्रिय और आनंदित हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1556
अदाभ्यः पुर एता विशाम् अग्निर् मानुषीणाम्. त्ञुर्णी रथः सदा नवः
Tμurƒ∂ ratha¨ sadå nava¨. Irrepressible and indestructible, going forward in front of the people, fiery leader of the nation, instant starter, torch bearer of humanity and warrior, ever new: such is Agni, pioneer and leader.
अजेय, आगे बढ़ने वाला, मनुष्यों का नेतृत्व करने वाला, अग्नि सदैव नवीन है।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1557
अभि प्रयाँन्सि वाहसा दाश्वाँन् अश्नोति मर्त्यः. क्षयं पावक-शोचिषः
K¶aya≈ påvaka-‹oci¶a¨. By virtue of the leading light of Agni, the generous man who gives in yajnic action gets his objects of desire, and from the rising flames of holy fire as by virtue of the scholar's brilliance of knowledge, he gets a haven of peace.
हे अग्निदेव, आपकी दीप्ति से प्रेरित होकर, उदार मनुष्य अपनी इच्छाओं को प्राप्त करता है और पवित्र अग्नि की ज्वालाओं से शांति का आश्रय पाता है।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1558
साह्वान् विश्वा अभियुजः क्रतुर् देवानाम् अमृ- क्तः. अग्निस् तुवि श्रवस्तमः
Patient yet most irresistible of all the front rank people, most enlightened of the noble and generous, inviolable, Agni is well read and most renowned leading light.
हे अग्निदेव, आप अत्यंत तेजस्वी, महान कीर्ति वाले और सभी के पूजनीय हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1559
भद्रो नो अग्निराहुतो भद्रा रातिः सुभग भद्रो अध्वरः. भद्रा उत प्रशस्तयः
Lord of beauty and glory, may the yajna fire with offers of oblations be auspicious for us. May our charity be auspicious. May our yajna and all other acts of kindness and love free from violence be auspicious. And may all the appreciation and praise of our acts and behaviour be auspicious and fruitful.
हे ऐश्वर्यवान अग्निदेव, हमारे लिए आहुति से युक्त यज्ञ मंगलमय हो, हमारा दान मंगलमय हो, हमारा यज्ञ और सभी कर्म मंगलमय हों, तथा हमारी स्तुतियाँ भी मंगलमय हों।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1560
भद्रं मनः कृणुष्व वृत्र-त्ञुर्ये येना समत्सु सासहिः. अव स्थिरा तनुहि भ्ञुरि सर्- द्धतां वनेमा ते अभिष्ंअये
Agni, leading light of life, turn the mind to gracious goodness, by which you challenge the adversary in battles and win over the forces of darkness. Reduce the many strongholds of the violent adversaries to nullity so that by your kindness and favours we may win what we desire in peace.
हे अग्निदेव, हमारे मन को कल्याणकारी शुभ विचारों की ओर प्रेरित करें, जिससे हम युद्धों में शत्रुओं को परास्त कर सकें और सभी बाधाओं पर विजय प्राप्त कर सकें। आपकी कृपा से हम अपनी इच्छाओं को शांतिपूर्वक पूर्ण कर सकें।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1561
अग्ने वाजस्य गोमत ईशानः सहसो यहो. अस्मे देहि जातवेदो महि श्रवः
Asme dehi jåtavedo mahi ‹rava¨. Agni, lord of the knowledge of existence, creator and ruler of food, energy and wealths of life and lord of cows and sunbeams, child of omnipotence, bring us the brilliance of knowledge and great splendour of life's victories.
हे अग्निदेव, हे सर्वज्ञ, हमें अन्न, बल, धन और गौओं का ऐश्वर्य प्रदान करें।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1562
स इधानो वसुष्कविर् अग्निर् ईडेन्यो गिरा. रेवदस्मभ्यं पुर्वणीक दीदिहि
Revadasmabhya≈ purvaƒ∂ka d∂dihi. Agni, that brilliant lord of light and knowledge, treasure home of wealth and joy, divine visionary of creation, adorable with holy words, lord of wealth, blazing with flames and flaming with forces, may he ever shine and shine us with knowledge.
हे अग्निदेव, आप धन और ज्ञान के दाता, तेजस्वी, पूजनीय और प्रकाशमान हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1563
क्षपो राजन्न् उत त्मनाग्ने वस्तोर् उतोषसः. स तिग्मजम्भ रक्षसो दह प्रति
Sa tigmajambha rak¶aso daha prati. Agni, blazing with light and power, creating and ruling over nights, days and the dawns, lord of the mighty order of justice and dispensation, burn up the evil and the wicked.
हे राजन् अग्नि, अपनी दीप्ति और सामर्थ्य से रात्रियों, दिनों और भोरों को उत्पन्न करते हुए, न्याय और विधान के शक्तिशाली क्रम के स्वामी होकर, दुष्टों और पापियों को भस्म कर दो।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1564
विशो विशो वो अतिथिं वाजयन्तः पुरुप्रियम्. अग्निं वो दुर्यं वच स्तुषे श्ञुषस्य मन्मभिः
Agni≈ vo durya≈ vaca stu¶e ‹μu¶asya manmabhi¨. O people of the world, seekers of light and advancement by every community for every community, for the sake of you all, with sincere thoughts and resounding words, I adore Agni, holy power, your homely friend loved by all for the common good.
हे विश्ववासियों, सभी समुदायों के लिए, सभी समुदायों द्वारा, आपके लिए, मैं पवित्र अग्नि की स्तुति करता हूँ, जो सभी को प्रिय है और सबका हितैषी है।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1565
यं जनासो हविष्मन्तो मित्रं न सर्पिर् आसुतिम्. प्रशँन्सन्ति प्रशस्तिभिह्
Adore and exalt Agni whom yajnic people serve as a friend, with havi in hand and oblations of clarified butter, and celebrate with songs of praise.
हे मनुष्यों, यज्ञकर्तागण जिस मित्र स्वरूप अग्नि की घृत से युक्त हवि से पूजा करते हैं, उसकी स्तुति करो।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1566
पन्याँन्सं जातवेदसं यो देवतात्युद्यता. हव्यान्यैरयद् दिवि
Havyånyairayad divi. Serve and exalt the adorable Agni, all pervasive, who rises, strengthens all divinities of nature and humanity and raises the oblations to the heavens and heightens their vitality and power.
हे सर्वव्यापी जातवेद (अग्निदेव), जो देवों को प्रकाशित करते हैं, हम आपकी स्तुति करते हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1567
समिद्धम् अग्निं समिधा गिरा गृणे शुचिं पावकं पुरो अध्वरे ध्रुवम्. विप्रं होतारं पुरुवारम् अद्रुहं कविं सुम्नैर् ईमहे जातवेद्सम्
I glorify the lighted fire, pure and purifying power, firm and foremost in holy works of love and non-violent development. In our state of peace and comfort, we celebrate and pray to the vibrant light giver of gifts, universally admired, free from jealousy, poetic creator, all knowing and present in all that exists.
हे सर्वज्ञ अग्निदेव, हम आपकी स्तुति करते हैं, जो यज्ञ में प्रज्वलित, पवित्र, शुद्ध करने वाले, स्थिर और सबसे आगे हैं, जो प्रेम और अहिंसक विकास के पवित्र कार्यों में सहायक हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1568
त्वां द्ञुतम् अग्ने अमृतं युगे युगे हव्यवाहं दधिरे पायुम् ईड्यम्. देवासश्च मर्त्तासश्च जागृविं विभुं विश्पतिम् नमसा नि षेदिरे
Agni, life of life, light of existence, brilliant saints and sages and ordinary mortals too for ages and ages have meditated on you, light divine, with homage and self-surrender and found their haven and home in your presence, O lord disseminator of fragrance, receiver of homage and giver of grace, immortal, protector, adorable, ever awake, infinite, ruler and sustainer of humanity.
हे अग्निदेव, आप जीवन के प्राण, प्रकाश के स्रोत हैं, जिन्हें युग-युगों से देवगण और मनुष्य श्रद्धापूर्वक भजते हैं और आपकी शरण में शांति पाते हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1569
विभ्ञुषन्नग्न उभयाँन् अनु व्रता द्ञुतो देवानाम् रजसी सम् ईयसे. यत् ते धीतिं सुम- तिम् आवृणीमहेइ᳓ध स्मा नस् त्रिवर्ञुथः शिवो भव
Agni, lord beatific, purifying fire, gracious to both wise and innocent according to your eternal law, self- refulgent light giver for the brilliant and generous, you pervade heaven and earth with your saving presence. As we meditate on your holy light and vision of knowledge, in consequence by your grace be kind and good to us, O lord of three worlds, omnipresent, omniscient and omnificent.
हे सर्वव्यापी, पवित्र अग्निदेव, जो देवताओं के प्रकाशक हैं, हम आपकी कृपा चाहते हैं, जिससे आप हमारे लिए कल्याणकारी हों।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1570
उप त्वा जामयो गिरो देदिशतीर् हविष्कृतः. वायोर् अनीके अस्थिरन्
Upa två jåmayo giro dedi‹at∂r havi¶kæta¨. Våyor an∂ke asthiran. Moving and vibrant adorations of the enlightened celebrant reach you and stay by you in the movements of air in the middle regions.
हे बृहस्पति और अग्नि गृहपतियों, आपकी स्तुतियाँ वायु के संचरण में स्थिर रहती हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1571
यस्य त्रिधात्ववृतम्ं बर्हिस्तस्थावसन्द्- इनम्. Åपश्चिन् नि दधा पदम्
The three-quality mind of the celebrant with sattva, rajas and tamas, open and unfettered, is the seat of Agni where peace and potential for action both have their seat.
हे गृहपति अग्नि, जो तीन गुणों (सत्त्व, रज, तम) से युक्त, विस्तृत और अबाध मन है, वही आपका आसन है जहाँ शांति और कर्म की शक्ति दोनों निवास करती हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1572
पदं देवस्य मीढुषोइ᳓नाधृष्ंआभिर् ञुतिभिः. भद्रा स्ञुर्य इवोपदृक्
Pada≈ devasya m∂Œhu¶oínådh涢åbhir μutibhi¨. Bhadrå sμurya ivopadæk. The seat of the refulgent, generous and virile divinity, Agni, with undaunted powers of protection is auspicious and blissful, shining like an inner sun and the second inner eye with inward light and vision.
हे बृहस्पति के पुत्र, हे अग्नि गृहपति, हे युवा, हे सहस्र बलवान, आपकी शक्ति और प्रकाश भीतर के सूर्य और दूसरे नेत्र के समान हैं, जो शुभ और आनंददायक हैं।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1573
अभि त्वा प्ञुर्वपीतय इन्द्र स्तोमेभिर् आयवः. समीचीनास ऋभवः सम् अस्वरन् रुद्रा गृणन्त प्ञुर्व्यम्
Sam∂c∂nåsa æbhava¨ sam asvaran rudrå gæƒanta pμurvyam. Indra, men in general, learned experts of vision and wisdom, illustrious powers of law and order, and fighting warriors of defence and protection all together, raising a united voice of praise, prayer and appreciation, with songs of holiness and acts of piety, invoke and invite you, ancient, nearest and most excellent lord of power and lustre, to inaugurate their yajnic celebration of the soma session of peaceful and exciting programme of development.
हे इन्द्र, सब मनुष्य, विद्वान, वीर योद्धा मिलकर स्तुतियों से तुम्हारी प्रशंसा करें।
Chapter 15 · Verse 1574
अस्येद् इन्द्रो वावृधे वृष्ण्यं शवो मदे सुतस्य विष्णवि. अद्या तम् अस्य महिमानम् आयवोइ᳓नु ष्ंउवन्ति प्ञुर्वथा
In the ecstasy of this soma success of achievement through the yajnic programme, Indra augments the strength and enthusiasm of this host and master of the programme, while now as ever before, the people appropriately adore and exalt the greatness of this lord.
इस सोमपान के आनंद में इंद्र बल और उत्साह बढ़ाते हैं, और लोग सदा की भांति उनकी महानता का गुणगान करते हैं।
